German Black Ram
The German Black Ram, or Black Knight Ram, are the newest variation of the peaceful and colorful ram family for the aquarium hobby. First bred in 1998 in Czechoslovakia the new black ram is now bred in Asia and Florida. The black color is the most dominant feature on the ram, and some yellow and blue highlights still come through to make this an exceptional aquarium fish. A note on Eastern Europe and the exotice bred species that we see from that region. During the cold war the aquarium hobbyists were on their own to breed and became adept at the work. Even today we see exceptional cardinals (Euro-cardinals), show killifish and other species that add a flair to the hobby. So the cold war was good for something.
