Porthole Catfish
The porthole catfish has a black spot on the body in the shape of a porthole on a ship – in fact their long slender body is shaped a bit like a ship. These catfish come from Peru where they are caught in large schools in small streams. Porthole catfish do not tolerate PH over 8.0 but otherwise are hardy and friendly additions to the fish tank. Porthole catfish are not classic schooling fish but definitely prefer to stick together so consider the addition of a small group of three to keep everyone happy.
